Meet
My mission is to empower you with Traditional Chinese Medicine and natural alternatives for optimal health. You know your body best, and I will listen to your concerns and honour this with the quality care you deserve. Everyone is different and no treatment is a one size fits all. Your treatment with me will always be tailored to support your health and improve your quality of life.
I studied at the Northern College of Acupuncture and graduated with a First Class BSc (Hons) degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2024. Before this, I had a career in massage therapy treating many conditions and backgrounds, including sports professionals.
I discovered acupuncture when conventional medicine was not effective for my own health. I was amazed by the results and how Chinese Medicine treats the whole person rather than isolated symptoms. I believe Eastern and Western medicine can complement each other well, and this inspired me to study acupuncture.
Now, I’m delighted to bring all of this together to serve the Argyll community at my clinic in Lochgilphead.
With a Scandinavian background, I spent my childhood foraging the forests and swimming in the fjords. I grew up with the Nordic philosophies of life, prioritising balance and contentment. I love a sauna and being cosy.
My university dissertation presented evidence that acupuncture can effectively treat sports injuries and improve athletic performance. This extends into general injuries and our mobility through every day life.
I believe that all aspects of health are an ongoing maintenance, and a drop of prevention is better than a bucket load of cure. I firmly believe in treating the root cause of health issues rather than only addressing symptoms.
I love research and have a special interest in supporting the genetic connective tissue disorder, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
When I’m not in my clinic, I enjoy being outdoors with my dogs and travelling. I recently completed a trip with the charity, World Medicine, providing acupuncture to rural communities at the Jay Ambe hospital in Chaparda, India.
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), a Professional Standards Authority regulatory body for those trained to the highest professional standard in the acupuncture field. This ensure patients receive the highest standard of care with strict codes of conduct and confidentiality. I have also completed postgraduate-level training in subjects including gynaecology, fertility, and sports medicine.
